Job Description
The Global Data Management Programme is a multi year, multi million dollar investments to provide a common business process and infrastructure for records management of key business data and communications, driven by global legal and regulatory requirements for retention of all media types (email, messaging, documents, application data, fax, voice, and video). This is a global programme supporting all areas of the bank; as such it is sponsored by the Global Chief Operating Officer of the Investment Bank.
In 2005 a Global Data Retention policy was drawn up, and the programme is now moving into design and implementation, with a clear intent to start deliveries during 2006. The programme impacts all areas of the Bank across all product lines business groups and product lines, front-to-back from Trading through to Settlement and across control functions such as Risk and Accounting.
This role will play a key part in the delivery of the GDMP programme in the Physical Records Management stream within the APAC region, and will be within Information Technology- Chief Operating Officer (IT-COO); which facilitates the transitioning of the archival of Physical records to GDMP standards in UBS-APAC locations.
The role of GDMP -PRM Business Analyst (BA) will cover:
- Analysing and Executing the PRM process changes across business Groups within APAC locations.
- Contributing to the development and revalidation of the future state strategies.
- Working with Global Records Management leads and the APAC location Physical Records Managers, Corporate Administration Services (CAS) as well as stakeholders, to identify and define the scope of Physical Records data retention projects.
- Ensuring the effective communication of issues and requirements across the team.
- Creating key proposal documents, presentations, and other materials for discussion in various forums.
- Collating, analysing and consolidating business requirements in the physical records management of all UBS business areas.
- Understanding and highlighting the business benefits of the programme/projects, and following-up with business users to ensure that benefits/process changes are realized.
- Demonstrating team-oriented approach to delivery of work - assisting other team members to resolve issues and striving to achieve common goals within the programme.
- Conveying a persistent, yet professional manner in dealing with business groups and stakeholders - ensuring resolution of problems.
- Developing effective working relationships with business groups and stakeholders, when/where required.
- Gaining an awareness of the bank's overall strategic direction, as well as relevant developments in the external marketplace
The programme impacts all areas of the Bank, including all product areas and the front to back infrastructure, and as a result the role will require interaction with many different groups. Consequently the successful candidate will gain an excellent insight into the workings of the Investment Bank and will have excellent opportunities to develop within the firm.
