Performs Oracle database administration, and supports application development with the creation, configuration, and management of development databases and tools.
Assists developers with the creation of stored procedures, scripts, and utilities as necessary.
Assists application development with analysis and query/access design recommendations to support application performance requirements, and recommendation for query/access modifications to enhance application performance.
Assists in the evaluation of database management systems.
Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field and equivalent education or work experience.
Must have Two years experience in production Oracle database administration on UNIX.
Excellent communication skills and the ability to convey technical concepts, and recommendations clearly to technical personnel, both verbally and in writing. Oracle Certified Professional in 9i or greater required. Experience with DB2, MySQL, PostgreSQL, Berkeley DB, and SQL Server.
Working experience within Oracle 9i, IBM DB2, Sybase, Microsoft SQL Server, PostgreSQL, MYSQL , Linux, Wintel, and mainframe environments.
Experience with Java, PERL, CGI, Shell Scripting, and DOS Shell scripting.
Must be a self-starter and someone who takes ownership of project's DBA involvement.
