* The candidate will perform moderately complex testing tasks to assure systems meet specifications and are within quality management standards.
* The individual will be accountable to:
- analyze business requirements to plan, schedule and prepare test scripts
- execute test cases and scripts, and verify results against expectations
- write up summary of test results, report on findings and contribute to tracking QM metrics
Responsibilities:
* Work with Business Analysts and Test Lead to review business requirements and test strategy and develop test plans, test sequence, test schedule, test scripts and test data.
* Carry out necessary tests.
* Analyze and write up results from tests, and report results to Business Analyst and Test Lead.
* Investigate and raise error reports for all defects found.
* Monitor the error logs for fixes and perform re-tests on fixes and any newly introduced changes.
* Actively participate in walk-throughs and reviews with other team members.
* Establish and maintain accurate work records and documents.
* Deliver work in line within agreed effort and timetable.
* Maintain accurate records for time reporting purposes.
* Ensure awareness of priorities and report on progress and issues in a timely manner.
* Implement approved improvements to improve testing methods used.
* Identify enhancements to testing methods and make recommendations for improvements.
Mandatory Skills:
* Must have Mainframe exp (CICS, COBOL and DB2).
* University degree or college diploma in computer science or related technical field
* Min 2 yrs of Quality Management testing exp
* Min 2 yrs of programming exp, or automated scripting exp
* Must have exp working in mainframe, distributed and web environments.
* Good understanding of the software life cycle, and how testing best practices apply.
* Good understanding of QM methodologies.
* Exp using automated test tools, preferably the Mercury Suite of tools
