Job Summary
The systems Engineer is responsible for pre and post-sales support of our client product lines. Pre-sales activities involve technical support in sales presentations and product demonstrations and assisting customers and resellers with product evaluations, training of our client partners in distribution, system integrators and resellers. This position works closely with Channel, Territory and Regional Managers and Vice President, APAC in an effort to develop business opportunities and maintain customer satisfaction. This role also requires interaction with Service, Support and Software Development teams to coordinate resolution to product defects reported by large existing and any potential customers. The Systems Engineer also submits customer product enhancement requests and tracks progress of customer issues through the problem resolution cycle. Extensive travel in Middle East, APAC and the United States is region is required.
Essential Functions
• Supports customers and partners in the definition and implementation of a complex software solution.
• Provides pre and post-sales technical support to customers and partners using or evaluating our client's software products. Guides problems through the problem resolution process.
• Assist in closing business in regional territories through field visits to major account prospects.
• Performs product presentations and technical demonstrations at customer and partner sites.
• Participates in trade shows, seminars and other industry events.
• Performs technical training for channel partners.
• Provides reporting on customer account and field activities to Systems Engineering and APAC Management groups.
• Assists the Product Support Services group during the beta test phase of new our client products and releases as primary contact for all customers and partners.
Qualifications
• Education: Bachelor's degree in technical or business discipline or equivalent experience.
• Comprehensive experience as a field systems engineer in the computer hardware or software industry or with a solution provider or systems integrator.
• Excellent verbal and written communications skills.
• Strong presentation skills
• Strong commitment to customer satisfaction.
• Ability to work independently
• Excellent knowledge of Microsoft Windows server operating systems, linux and/or solaris as well as a strong overall understanding of IT Security, computer networking environments. CISSP, CCIE and/or MSCE preferred.
