  Job Description
Roles and Outcomes

Under general supervision, responsible for planning and executing service activity on company systems, including installation, discontinuance, relocation, diagnosis, emergency repair etc. Minimises equipment downtime, ensures customer satisfaction. Support of customers will include trouble-shooting, resolution of technical problems, analysis of customer requirements. Makes on-site visits for maintenance, diagnosis and repairs, and keeps records of repairs carried out. Provides hot-line and immediate support of a routine nature. Refers complex technical queries to higher level customer/technical support specialists.

1. Operates within a structured and routinely supervised environment to implement, support, monitor, operate and maintain the hardware/software and LAN within SLA for the desktop environment.
2. Is familiar with, and uses as directed, all applicable methods, procedures and standards.
3. Is able to function effectively, productively and meet itme and quality targets across tasks within scope using available tools, methodologies and/or equipment without frequent reference to others.
4. Demonstrates rational and organised approach to tasks set.
5. Demonstrates a systematic, disciplined and analytical approach to problem solving.
6. Has acquired an appreciation of the context of his/her specific technical role in the relevant area of employment and within the employer's business as a whole.
7. Performs hardware/software inventory audits, ensuring integrity and licensing compliance.
8. Assist with user orientation on hardware, software or network functions.
9. Demonstrates both formal and informal communications ability, orally and in writing when dealing with all colleagues and clients.
10. Escalates unresolved problems ensuring efficient problem resolution.
11. Is able to absorb fresh, new technical information rapidly when it is systematically presented and apply it effectively.
12. Within a limited time horizon, is able to plan, schedule and monitor own work competently

Essential (Must Have)
1 - 2 years desktop support experience.
A+ or N+ or equivalent qualification.
Partial MCSE or equivalent qualification
Trouble shooting and communication skills
Customer Service Orientated
Self- motivated person
Quick Learner
Team player

Desirable(Nice to Have)
Fully MCSE qualified

Minimum qualification is Grade 12 with A+ or N+ or equivalent qualification.
Partial MCSE or equivalent qualification
2- 3 years desktop support experience incl.
Microsoft Operating Systems and Applications.
