  Job Description
Responsibilities:

The Manager of Systems Engineering is responsible for managing a team of highly technical engineers that focus on working with VMware's Corporate Reseller and Distribution partners. The candidate should be a self-starter with experience running an organization of at least 6 engineers. The ideal candidate will have outstanding technical leadership and mentoring abilities as well as experience in Channel and Direct Sales. The individual should be adept at working with peers to define new processes and policies that help drive partner enablement and field sales.

• Sets regional priorities and policies
• Presents to strategic customers
• Manages Corporate Reseller and Distribution partner SE headcount and recruiting
• Need to be a high-energy, motivated self-starter

Requirements:

• Minimum 5 years of technical management experience as well as, 8 years enterprise software industry experience
• Proven experience working with Partners (Corp Resellers/Distribution in particular)
• Excellent understanding of channel and direct technical sales models
• Strong team-lead experience, specifically in coaching, technical development and technical sales best practices
• Significant track record of accomplishment selling in the enterprise, client-server market
• Excellent grasp of technology and industry trends
• Proven ability to exceed quota
• Knowledge in selling complex systems products

Compensation:

At VMware, your On-Target Earnings are real, not virtual. We offer a competitive base salary plus a monthly commission which is tied directly to your team's quota attainment.
