  Job Description

The successful candidate will be working as part of a small Surveillance and Performance Analysis team supporting and developing the business' systems. This team works closely with the Structured Investment Credit team (Risk), Investment Portfolio team (Front office) and senior management, such as the Head of Credit Policy and Sanctioning and the Head of Risk/Treasury.

This is a technical role within the business area and as such demands a flexible candidate with an ability to handle multiple programming/developing tasks within tight deadlines. Programming requirements are largely event-driven and typically require rapid application development to reflect changing business requirements in the systems. This happens, to a large extent as an iterative process involving the candidate and the team head.


The key system used are two MS Access databases:
Surveillance Database
Portfolio Analytics Platform (comprising RATER and Portfolio Reporter modules)

There are various interfaces to source systems such as Murex Limit Controller, Summit and Bloomberg.

Key tasks/ Responsibilities include:
* Day-to-day system maintenance and, if necessary, Ad-hoc queries
* Development activities if and when required
* Reflection of system changes in the relevant systems documentation



..Previous experience in Structured credit/ Structured finance would be useful

* Self-motivated, enthusiastic individual with drive, flexibility and commitment who is able to work effectively in a pressurised Treasury environment.
* Excellent communication skills with the ability to work in close contact with risk managers, other business users and technology colleagues.

* Ability to analyse, prioritise and act on varied issues with a high attention to detail and thoroughness ensuring stable functioning of the Surveillance systems.

* Flexibility, willingness and ability to adapt to varied technologies and a desire to develop business and technical knowledge.
* Good understanding of database theory, project lifecycles, data flows and process automation
