Lead Software Engineer - Java EE, Linux, Perl
Requirements / Qualifications:
10+ years professional hands on software development experience (with 4+ years utilizing Java), with 5+ years of high-volume applications/systems experience
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related technical field
Expert in Java EE technology
Must possess a strong understanding of service-oriented (SOA) and asynchronous message-based concepts
In-depth knowledge of object-oriented methodologies, UML design techniques, event driven architectures, and other design patterns
Strong understanding of XML/JSON/Web-services
Solid experience working in Linux based environments including scripting skills such as Perl, shell, etc.
Strong understanding with JEE based application servers such as Tomcat, JBoss, Glassfish, etc.
Experience with distributed cache/store systems and a solid understand of caching techniques
Familiarity with open-source libraries/frameworks, e.g. Apache, Jakarta, etc.
Strong demonstrable knowledge with Relational databases, specifically MS SQL, Oracle, and MySql
Knowledge of non-relational storage systems
Experience with Hibernate or other object-relational mapping framework
Strong experience working in a team and as an individual
Exemplary communication skills (both written and oral), evidenced by a background in preparing comprehensive documentation incorporating complex information
Strong process background, e.g. XP
Ability to read Perl/mod_Perl code is a plus
Experience of Apache API, and C module development is a plus
Strong experience with identity based systems and security design patterns
Understanding of certificates, encryption, and other security based concepts is a plus
At least 5 years experience as software application development lead successfully delivering projects with at least 3 developers, including application architecture, code review, project scoping, and debugging - including at least 1 ecommerce app or site
