My client is a leading financial services organisation with an excellent reputation across the North. They are currently seeking a candidate with strong development skills in VB6 and VB.net.

This role will be to develop quality software and systems to current standards, within agreed timescales, as directed by the business requirements.

The candidate will be responsible for duties such as:
* Systems evaluation
* Monitoring of standards and quality
* Leading development teams and carrying out peer review of development work
* Systems design and specification.
* To produce program specifications.
* To produce, test and document program code within agreed timescales and to documented standards.
* To maintain in house software.
* To assist with, or support systems testing.
* To provide support during user acceptance testing.
* To participate in the use and development of departmental procedures.
* To improve knowledge of the business and operation in all business areas.
* To provide out-of-hours support.
* To provide support for trainee systems developers and other systems developers.
* To develop appropriate skills.
