Duties and Key Responsibilities:
•Design and implement system software on a video optimized compute and storage platform, to supporting multiple concurrent video applications. These applications use CPU, storage and networking in novel ways that presents challenges in processing, data rate and availability requirements. Creating software solutions to overcome such challenges is the main focus of this position.
•The Intransa VSA (Video System Administration) environment is a Linux based environment. The development work will include creating and enhancing Intransa developed kernel modules, software daemons as well as customization of Linux system scripts and settings.
•Design and implement system management software for a cluster-based, fault tolerant system optimized for video application.
•Develop features to extend the Intransa architecture in performance scaling and capacity scaling.
•Enhance the Intransa products to interoperate with data-center grade server, storage and networking components, virtualization platforms and extending the solution to deployment in cloud-based environments.
•Interact with customer in initial product evaluation and subsequent deployment.
Required Skills and Experience:
•3+ years in Unix/Linux development with experience in multi-threaded software design, either at the kernel/driver level or operating daemons and utilities.
•Proficiency in C and/or C++ programming language, knowledge of Java desirable
•Self-motivated and quick learning
•Working experience with SCSI and/or IP protocols desirable
•Working experience with virtualization (VMware, Xen, KVM) desirable.
