Computer Operations Support/ Help Desk Technician
Responsible for IT Help Desk phone calls, triage calls, take and deliver messages, provide information to callers. Enter calls into tracking system, communicate issues, and ensure follow-up and closure of issues, issue reporting, analysis, and management. Follow standard practices and procedures in analyzing situations or data from which answers can be readily obtained. Assist in the preparation of reports, graphs, and presentations using spreadsheet, graphic software, and/or database applications. Offer general administrative support. Craft and publish periodic department communications and newsletters. Gain business IT experience in MS-Windows environment and VoIP telephony technology. Assist with installation, configuration, and support of several software applications. Assist with hardware and software install and upgrades. Perform troubleshooting in the identification of applicable problems relating to PC's, applications software and basic network communications. Create end-user and systems documentation. Communicate technical information to both technical and non-technical personnel. Work on assignments that are moderately complex in nature where judgment is required in resolving problems and making routine recommendations. Normally receive no instruction on routine work, general instructions on new assignments. Other duties as assigned..
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES: (List essential responsibilities and duties)
Take and enter calls into tracking system, communicate issues, and ensure follow-up and closure of issues, issue reporting, analysis, and management.
Perform installations, upgrades and backups of software and hardware applications as assigned.
Troubleshoot software and hardware failures and identifies network problems when related to PCs. May assist with troubleshooting of networks.
Install, configure, and troubleshoot workstations, and servers in a heterogeneous environment. Maintain password security, data integrity, and file system security.
Communicate technical information to both technical and non-technical personnel. Know when to communicate project issues and progress.
Assist in the preparation of reports, graphs, and presentations using spreadsheet, graphic software, and/or database applications.
Perform hardware and software moves, adds and changes as assigned.
Change management and control for systems and telecommunications equipment.
Develop and implement processes to improve quality and increase efficiency. Ensure that project deliverables are transitioned into day-to-day practices.
Develop end-user documentation.
Issue logging, tracking, analysis, reporting and management. Maintain records on repairs, down time, changes and update
Accountable and responsible for working on business critical applications and systems that operate 24/7/365.
Train users in the use of technology and systems.
