We require an experienced Engineer to assist the Lead Maritime Engineer and meet the current Installation and Integration (IandI) schedules. This candidate will also work alongside the Lead Maritime Engineer with the Maritime integration and installations aspects of the overall IandI work.
The successful candidate will demonstrate the following experience and meet the following criteria;
* Proven knowledge of Naval Engineering standards and compliancy with current Naval Integration and Installation processes.
* Good understanding of Naval Secure communications and End Crypto units.
* Previous experience of installation or maintenance of RN communication equipments, in particular cryptographic units.
* Ability to identify, analyse, report and resolve both technical and project issues.
* Experience of JSP 480 procedures and requirements, CIAP including AandA and Class MOD procedures.
* Knowledge of access, health and safety processes to Naval Platforms and sites
* Excellent communication and presentation skills.
* Good motivation and willingness to get the job done successfully.
* Able to work on his/her own initiative.
* Ability to write concise engineering reports.
* Able to work and deliver to tight deadlines.
The key responsibilities of this role are:
? In conjunction with the IandI Team leader be responsible for the generation and maintenance of the maritime IandI schedule / plan keeping the IandI Team leader and where appropriate the Project Manager informed.
? Assisting the IandI Maritime Lead engineer with the integration and installation of the cryptographic replacement units as per the schedule.
? Generation of key Integration and Installation documentation including, but not limited to, test procedures and reports.
? In conjunction with the Maritime Lead Engineer establishing liaison with key personnel, maritime stakeholders, customers and suppliers and maintaining good lines of communications with all parties.
? Conducting acceptance testing as required by the Maritime Lead Engineer and the IandI team Leader.
? In co-ordination wit h the lead engineer arranging visits and access to all in scope IandI platforms and sites ensuring all relevant HandS rules are complied with and met.
? Conducting detailed site surveys of all in scope IandI platforms, sites and reference test facilities and to collate and document survey results.
? Co-ordination of support from/to other departments.
? Understanding of the integration and installation project lifecycle (Integration, installation, and Acceptance).
? Proven Naval / Maritime engineering experience, preferably within Naval communications to include integration and installation activities.
? Involvement with obtaining relevant platform and site clearances in order to conduct Integration and Installation of devices.
? A flair for compiling detailed written test specifications and step by step procedures to verify and validate technical requirements of the integration and installation of devices.
? Experience of integrating, installing and testing of cryptographic or communication equipments within Naval and shore units.
? Knowledge and experience of working with and following MCTA guidelines and NWHT test processes.
? Experience of producing Integration and installation matrices and test reports.
? Familiarity and use of requirements management tools, requirements capture, analysis and traceability.
? Ability to conduct detailed results analysis and interpretation and the production of test reports.
? Experience and familiarity with common electronics test equipment used for data communications and measurement, e.g. Oscilloscopes, Logic analysers, Protocol analysers etc.
