Job Title: Lead Designer Business: Enterprise Integration Services Division: Enterprise Integration Sevices Job Grade: 4.2 Job Description Job Purpose: Reporting to the Delivery Manager, this position involves all aspects of planning/Designing key Business services using Websphere Message Broker. It will also involve technical leadership and mentoring of the team. Key Responsibilities: ? Must have strong EAI/SOA concepts and practice knowledge of IBM WebSphere Suite of products as well as hands-on experience on WebSphere Message Broker V6.x and WMQ ? Must have very strong background of Solution design aspects, designing Business Services/Message flows, Schema/Message Sets and other artefacts eg; service design documentation that are required in the Business Service development life cycle. Should possess very strong requirement analysis skills. ? In-depth knowledge of different message formats being used in financial organizations like XML, TDS, CWF and SOAP messages. ? Takes lead and provides general direction as a member of a technical team in the design, implementation and maintenance of WMB and WMQ. ? Ability to work on different environments and provide strategic solutions with diverse Integration methodologies ? Assesses options and makes recommendations to customers. Communicates complex information and negotiates with internal customers, suppliers and vendors. ? Provides technical guidance and advice, mentoring and work direction to developers at a low level. ? Participates in meetings with Business Unit customers to present information, review service performance, negotiate priorities and resolve problem trends and identifies new initiatives. Regularly consults with the business on high-impacting issues. ? Resolves complex design and construction problems. Advises on major application development problems and initiates remedial actions and solutions. ? Initiates improvements in work processes and motivates others to implement process improvement and change initiatives. ? Ensures that installed systems meet performance considerations outlined in Service Level Agreements. ? Participates in the design of standards and implements policies and procedures in the course of providing solutions. ? Experience in implementation of WebSphere Message Broker and MQ in large and complex distributed systems, very good knowledge of Hub and spoke pattern and ESB patterns of deployment. ? Good knowledge of Windows 2000/2003. Knowledge and Experience of z/OS operating system will be an added advantage. ? Solid background in WebSphere Message Broker and MQ Operations, Administration and Support. ? Exposure to MQ on other platforms (i.e. Unix, iSeries, and z/OS) ? Strong interpersonal and communication skills. ? Ability to adapt to changing EAI / SOA methodologies and associated infrastructure requirements. ? Provide consultation to Applications Development groups on technical matters pertaining to Websphere MQ (MQSeries), Message Broker, application design and performance. ? Understands business operations and system requirements processes. ? Produce clear technical documentation and conform to any audit requirements. ? Liaise with Applications Production Support groups to aid in problem diagnosis. ? Good troubleshooting skills and experience in vendor support escalation and management of ETRs. ? Proven track record in delivering process improvement and significant reengineering benefits. ? Work within and support the necessary management processes. ? Ensure all activities are performed comprehensively and in confirmation with the client's Policy
Knowledge/Experience: ? A skilled software professional with at least 10-12+ years of experience in I.T and at least 7+ years in EAI/SOA space. Must have strong conceptual knowledge of IBM WebSphere Suite of products as well as hands-on experience for development on Web sphere Message Broker and WMQ. Candidate with prior experience in Banking/Finance domain will be preferred. ? Accustomed to supporting a high value operation, where there is a rapid rate of technical change, but reliability is mandatory, hence adherence to change control disciplines is a necessity. ? A self-starter, but also a finisher who ensures that tasks/projects is fully completed with the necessary updates to documentation. ? Well organised and able to keep a number of activities in progress in parallel, balancing priorities as necessary, in particular between support and project work. ? A good team member/leader, able to guide/support colleagues and to take guidance where necessary. ? Experience in working with Architects and translating Architecture and analysis artefacts into service design documents would be preferred. Skills: ? Demonstrable experience of atleast 5 years in designing EAI solutions using Websphere suite of product sets ? Experience of using Message broker in ZOS, Windows and Unix Operating systems ? Experience of Weblogic is desirable. ? Proven experience of the implementation and support of web servers and other web-based systems. ? Experience in Java/J2EE development and the use of build tools like ANT. ? Knowledge of source version control. ? Experience of using Rational toolsets and model driven design and development approaches. ? Very strong in messaging standards like IFX, ACORD, LIXI and IFW. ? Very good ESQL knowledge is a must. Other programming languages like JAVA are preferred. ? Very strong in writing / understanding adaptor technology for message exchanges with WMQ from other applications Qualifications: ? A basic degree from any reputed university with tertiary qualifications in IT industry is preferred. Any additional IBM certifications on Websphere suite of products, especially in Message Broker and WMQ are desirable. Competencies ? The successfull candidate will be able to work comprehensively stand alone and as a team player. ? Accommodating changes to task priorities and additions to requirements, potentially at short notice will be expected. ? Deliver to meet production deadlines while working in a highly control centric organisation. ? Identify, propose, document and implement areas of improvement. ? Very Strong verbal and written communication skills will be key.
