  Job Description
This technology based organisation's largest spend is on licensing and third party agreements. The Project Management team there (20 PM's) role is to deliver products and new releases, the PMO's responsibility (as in most companies) is to Manage all the varying projects and Project Managers. Within the PMO a role has arisen for someone to take responsibility for supporting the IT spend in terms of licensing costs, third party spend and dealing with any invoicing issues in line with agreed SLA's..basically there is a need for an organised body to come in and take control of this function.

Background wise they are looking for someone who, to a degree, has been there and done it before. You'll have ideally worked within a PMO team within a technology department and taken similar responsibility for organising and controlling financial matters of PMO functions.

This role is not going to suit someone who just wants to be sat behind a desk and crunching figures. You need to be confident at dealing with stakeholders, getting the information you want in order to do your job. Being a wallflower wont work, you'll need to get up walk to the person and demand (in a diplomatic way) whatever you want to get your job done. The PM's you will be working with are a lovely bunch, it's just that they all have their own deadlines to adhere to and therefore will not necessary be focussed on providing you with the info you need. Once you have secured all the info, you'll need to keep this stuff in order and ensure payments are made on time, SLA's are achieved etc etc etcyou get the idea.
