  Job Description
Technical Requirements

Good working knowledge of UNIX / Linux commands.
Sound knowledge of UNIX based File Systems.
Familiarity with open source configuration management and deployment tools such as Puppet and Linux scripting.
Knowledge of Troubleshooting Core Java Applications is a plus.
Familiarity with monitoring tools Splunk, and Zenoss is a plus.

Education and Training
Bachelor's degree in computer science or a related discipline preferred

Professional Experience

5+ years of general operational expertise such as good troubleshooting skills, understanding of system's capacity, bottlenecks, basics of memory, CPU, OS, storage, and networks.
2+ years of experience with production Hadoop Ecosystems (ex: HBase, Hive, Pig, Mahout, etc.).

Knowledge and Abilities

Knowledge of Networking.
Demonstrated analytical, design, and problem resolution skills at multi-product/multi-environment levels.
High degree of understanding in the theories, methodologies and principals underlying technical analysis, design and implementation of software applications, systems, and/or databases.
Very good understanding of the Architecture process and methodology, and a high level of understanding of the business environment, strategy and needs.
A flexible and positive work ethic along with strong interpersonal skills in working with clients and co-workers.
Familiarity with ITIL processes (Incident/Problem/Change Management) is a plus.
