Must be able to communicate well with teams, team members, and management – Communications.
Must be able to lead and demonstrate value-add principles to a team – Facilitation.
Must be the first to notice differences and issues as they arise and elevate them to management at the appropriate time – Situational Awareness.
Must continually be growing one's craft learning new tools and techniques to manage oneself and finding new ways to make the team stronger – Process Improvement.
Must be able to facilitate discussion and facilitate alternatives or different approaches. Proven skills in dealing with tough issues in a professional and respectful manner – Conflict Resolution.

Must actively work to expose project development issues as early as possible while growing the relationship with our business partners - Partnership.
Serve as a liaison with organization management to keep them abreast of the team progress including sprint summary along with monthly status reports.
Schedule and participate in daily stand-up, sprint review, sprint retrospectives, and sprint planning.
Demonstrate knowledge and experience with IT processes and concepts.
Lead the teams' efforts in continuous improvement. This includes helping the team improve, helping the team take responsibility for their actions, and helping the team become problem solvers for themselves.
Ensure outside team resources such as DBA's, Architects, and system administrators are coordinated for future sprints when applicable.
Eliminate impediments: Many blocking issues will be beyond the team's authority or will require support from other teams, product owners, or leadership. As a ScrumMaster you actively address these issues so the team can remain focused on achieving the objectives of the iteration.
Understand basic fundamentals of iterative development.
Understand other processes and methodologies and can speak intelligently about them and leverage other techniques to provide value to a team/enterprise.
Understand basic fundamentals of software development processes and procedures.
Understand the value of commitments to delivery made by a development team.
Understand incremental delivery and the value of metrics.
Understand backlog tracking, burn-down metrics, velocity, and task definition.
