  Job Description
Work Experience Requirements:

3+ years of network and system monitoring experience with large enterprise environments - preferred
Working knowledge of monitoring tools and data center applications to support printing, networks, storage, servers and backups – preferred
Working knowledge of one or more of the following technology infrastructures: Windows, Active Directory, Exchange, Unix/Linux, Storage and SAN
Conceptual understanding of networks, storage area networks, server and storage virtualization
Monitor local and wide area networks, voice/telephony systems, server and storage infrastructure for performance and availability issues
Recognize, identify, and report on abnormal events in hardware and application performance and be able to predict from this analysis possible and probable future failures or outages
Perform initial level II repair and recovery actions
Communicate and escalate unavailable or degraded systems and services to the appropriate support teams
The ability to prioritize alerts, events and activities to best protect the business
Installation, configuration and level setting of new monitoring tools and management packs
Creates methods to automate and replace manually dependent monitoring processes
Provide support for customization where necessary through scripting
Working knowledge of ITIL change control and incident management processes
Demonstrates strong analytical and problem solving skills
The ability to learn new tools and changing work flows quickly
Solid oral and written communication skills
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Must have the ability to train and mentor others
Educational Requirements:

BS degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics or equivalent experience

Licenses/Certifications Desired:

Preferred certifications include:

Cisco: CCNA
Citrix: CCA
Cisco UCS: UCS Specialist
A+ and Network +
