Test digital products for accessibility compliance within Agile teams.
Responsibilities
- Perform manual and automated testing of web, mobile, and software applications to ensure compliance with WCAG, Section 508, ADA, and AODA.
- Write and maintain accessibility testing documentation, including test plans, test cases, bug reports, and front-end test scripts.
- Describe accessibility issues and provide specific recommendations for resolution in developer bug reports.
- Retest products after fixes are implemented to validate that issues are properly addressed.
- Educate team members on accessibility best practices and advocate for inclusion throughout the product development lifecycle.
Required Skills
- 5+ years of combined related work experience and completed higher education.
- Strong knowledge of digital accessibility regulations including WCAG, Section 508, ADA, and AODA.
- Hands-on experience with assistive technologies such as VoiceOver, JAWS, Dragon Naturally Speaking, ZoomText, TalkBack, and Speak to Me.
- Proficiency with accessibility evaluation tools like axe DevTools.
- Experience writing manual front-end test scripts for assigned workflows.
- Ability to analyze, resolve, and report on testing status, gaps, and issues to leadership.
- Some level of accessibility certification.
- Eligibility to work without sponsorship.
Preferred Skills
- Knowledge of web technologies including HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and ARIA.
- Experience conducting usability tests with participants who have accessibility challenges.
