Description

You will serve as a Civil/Structural Field Engineer supporting dock expansion and renovation projects.

Responsibilities

• Facilitate civil construction, structural installations, and commissioning activities including foundations and steel erection.
• Review product submittals, shop drawings, engineering design drawings, specifications, and contractor RFIs.
• Oversee civil and structural contractors to ensure adherence to project delivery methods, schedule milestones, and quality standards.
• Coordinate equipment factory testing, delivery, installation, and handover with vendors and building construction contractors.
• Manage coordination of weekend and plant shutdown work with contractors, facility groups, and manufacturing shops.

Required Skills

• 5+ years in civil and/or structural design.
• 2+ years in construction management.
• Experience in design criteria development for civil and structural systems.
• Automotive industry experience with engine, transmission, or vehicle facilities.
• Extensive knowledge of OSHA requirements, including Lock-Out, Electrical Safe Work Practices, and arc flash safety.
• Proficiency with building codes and industry standards such as IBC, NEC, NESC, NFPA, ASME, AMC, ARI, AWS, ASHRAA, and EM.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Project, Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
• Strong technical communication skills for written and verbal reporting.

Preferred Skills

• Proficiency in Bluebeam and AutoCAD.
• Expertise in structural designing.
