Description

You will manage and maintain Adabas/Natural applications within a cloud-based, distributed Linux server environment.

Responsibilities

• Design and implement Adabas databases to ensure optimal performance and scalability.
• Monitor database performance using Adabas Manager and Adabas Performance Monitor to resolve bottlenecks.
• Execute database startup, shutdown, and file reorders using Adabas utilities.
• Develop and implement backup and recovery procedures using Adabas Backup and Recovery Tools.
• Manage upgrades, configuration, and security certificate setup for Software AG products on Linux.
• Optimize database performance through query optimization, indexing, and buffer pool management.
• Schedule system tasks using administration subsystems like cron.

Required Skills

• Minimum 5 years of experience as an Adabas Database Administrator.
• Minimum 10 years of overall Information Technology experience.
• Proficiency with Adabas Utilities including ADAREP, ADABAS, ADASAV, and ADAORD.
• Experience managing Software AG products: Adabas, EntireX Communicator, Adabas Encryption, Natural Construct, ConnX, Natural One, Entire Net-Work, Natural Security, Entire Connection, and Predict.
• Hands-on experience with Linux operating systems (RedHat, SuSe, or CentOS) and shell scripting.
• Knowledge of AWS and Azure cloud environments.
• Experience using Software AG Update Manager to apply updates and fixes.
• Proficiency in data modeling, business modeling, and process modeling.
• Experience with Jira Software and the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC).
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or Business Administration.

Preferred Skills

• Prior experience in government or healthcare sectors.
• Knowledge of MA HIX or other State Health Exchange systems.
