You will lead administrative functions for a program or unit, acting on behalf of leadership to resolve administrative issues and set priorities.
Responsibilities
- Oversee complex event logistics, including vendor coordination, material production, and budget management for conferences and seminars.
- Manage calendars, resolve scheduling conflicts, and arrange travel in compliance with university and sponsor policies.
- Process complex financial transactions, reconcile budget statements, and resolve discrepancies.
- Supervise day-to-day work for administrative staff, students, or temporary workers by assigning workloads and reviewing quality.
- Draft and edit documents for grants, presentations, and reports, ensuring accuracy through research and fact-checking.
Required Skills
- 6+ years of administrative experience, or a combination of education and relevant experience.
- Proven ability to supervise staff, assign work, and set deadlines.
- Advanced proficiency with office software and email applications.
- Experience managing complex financial transactions and budget monitoring.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills for drafting correspondence and reports.
- Ability to independently exercise judgment and take ownership of projects.
- Demonstrated organizational skills with high attention to detail and accuracy.
- Experience with project follow-through and multitasking under deadlines.
Preferred Skills
- 2 or more years of prior supervisory experience.
- Experience with sponsored project research proposal submissions or post-award administration.
- Experience managing visa processes or faculty affairs support.
