Description

Lead safety engineering efforts for complex hardware and software embedded systems, ensuring compliance with MIL-STD-882E and ISO 26262 standards.

This role is on-site.

Responsibilities

• Apply MIL-STD-882E and ISO 26262 principles to establish safety requirements and mitigate system hazards.
• Perform hazard analyses, including preliminary hazard, function/system hazard, and fault tree analyses.
• Review software architecture, designs, requirements, and interface artifacts to ensure safety compliance.
• Verify safety requirements through the review of test plans, procedures, and system integration engineering.
• Prepare technical documentation and reports to support certification processes.

Required Skills

• 7+ years of experience in software safety for embedded systems using MIL-STD-882E, ISO 26262, or equivalent standards.
• 2+ years of experience developing software in C or C++.
• Proficiency with embedded software development, requirements development, and verification/validation processes.
• Strong understanding of system/software architecture and hardware/software design.
• Bachelor's degree in Computer, Electrical, Mechanical, or Aerospace Engineering.
• Ability to work independently and communicate technical safety findings to leadership and customers.

Preferred Skills

• Experience with model-based software development using MATLAB, Simulink, or Stateflow.
• Familiarity with requirements tools like Cameo or CPLM, and safety tools like PTC Windchill Quality Solutions.
• Experience in scaled Agile organizations using JIRA and Confluence.
