You will migrate legacy Perl application functionality to a modern Python and Django stack while collaborating with the engineering team to deliver technical solutions.

This role is remote.

Responsibilities

• Migrate legacy Perl application functionality to Python and Django.
• Collaborate with management and developers to deliver technical solutions.
• Contribute to development best practices within the engineering team.
• Create and maintain clear technical documentation for application development.

Required Skills

• 5+ years of professional development experience.
• Proficiency in Python and Django for backend development.
• Experience with JavaScript, HTML, and CSS.
• Experience with Celery task queues or comparable asynchronous frameworks.
• Knowledge of MariaDB, PostgreSQL, and Redis for database management and caching.
• Experience building and consuming REST and web-based APIs.
• Proficiency with Git for version control.
• Understanding of DevOps practices, cloud environments, and CI/CD.
• Understanding of basic networking concepts and SNMP polling.

Preferred Skills

• Experience working within Agile methodologies.
