Description

You will lead the end-to-end migration of SQL Server databases from on-premises data centers to AWS EC2.

Responsibilities

• Lead SQL Server database migrations to AWS EC2 with minimal downtime.
• Manage SQL Server provisioning, configuration, performance tuning, and security hardening in AWS environments.
• Define migration, optimization, and upgrade strategies based on existing database architectures and cloud best practices.
• Collaborate with application, infrastructure, cloud, and DevOps teams to integrate migration waves.
• Troubleshoot database issues during migration and steady-state operations, including performance benchmarking.
• Document database architectures, migration runbooks, and operational procedures.

Required Skills

• 7+ years of experience in SQL Server database administration.
• 2–3 years of hands-on experience with AWS.
• Expertise in SQL Server installation, configuration, and performance tuning.
• Proven experience with HA/DR solutions.
• Direct experience migrating workloads from on-premises to AWS EC2.
• Experience supporting large-scale data center exit or cloud migration programs.
• Ability to work across cross-functional teams.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related technical discipline.

Preferred Skills

• Master’s degree in a technical discipline.
