Description

Build data management workflows that enable research scientists to store, retrieve, and share datasets using AI-enabling metadata.

This role is hybrid.

Responsibilities

• Develop iterative workflows to identify, filter, sanitize, and normalize data for long-term storage.
• Package data with AI-enabling metadata into HDF5 format and create mechanisms for inventory and retrieval.
• Build accessible interfaces or scripts for research staff to interact with data management systems.
• Write comprehensive documentation and ensure all components comply with cybersecurity and IT standards.
• Deliver MVPs within 90 days, followed by refinement, refactoring, and feature additions.

Required Skills

• 5+ years of software development or system administration experience.
• Strong working understanding of AI, LLMs, and prompt engineering.
• Proficiency in Python for scripting, automation, and GUI development.
• Experience with AI workflow orchestrators (e.g., Dify).
• Familiarity with relational databases: MySQL/MariaDB, Oracle.
• Working knowledge of revision control (Git) and CI/CD pipelines (GitLab/GitHub).
• Strong Linux CLI administration skills (Debian and RHEL).
• Understanding of RESTful web services.

Preferred Skills

• Experience with HDF5 data format and scientific data management.
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, IT, or related field.
