You will design and own scalable, secure carrier API integrations and AI/ML pipelines.

This role is remote.

Responsibilities

• Define patterns and reusable services to accelerate onboarding of new carriers using REST, SOAP, EDI, and proprietary systems.
• Develop AI/ML pipelines to extract, normalize, and map submission and policy data from various sources.
• Collaborate with Data Science teams to embed LLMs and vector search into core underwriting workflows.
• Drive performance and reliability improvements across integration and AI pipelines, owning platform infrastructure on AWS.
• Mentor senior engineers on system integration, distributed architectures, and AI best practices.

Required Skills

• 10+ years in software engineering, with 5+ years in a senior or principal role.
• Strong background in insurance carrier integrations or InsurTech systems.
• Proficiency in Node.js/TypeScript; Python experience is a plus.
• Deep knowledge of REST/SOAP APIs, event-driven systems, and microservices.
• Familiarity with AI/ML pipelines, LLMs, and vector databases (e.g., MongoDB Atlas Vector Search).
• Solid understanding of cloud infrastructure, specifically AWS (EC2, Lambda, S3, Bedrock, API Gateway).
• Experience with data security and compliance standards (SOC2).
• Familiarity with EDI standards.
