You will perform structural analysis for advanced vertical lift composite and metallic structures.
Responsibilities
Perform detailed analyses for strength, stability, stiffness, fatigue, weight, and manufacturing requirements using classical and finite element methods.
Coordinate with design, manufacturing, supplier, laboratory, flight test, and project management teams.
Review part and assembly definitions prior to production release.
Examine structural or material discrepancies to create inspection and repair procedures.
Author test plans, instrumentation requests, monitoring limits, and stress reports to ensure airworthiness.
Required Skills
5+ years of experience in stress analysis of advanced composite or metallic structures.
Proficiency with finite element analysis (FEA) of complex models.
Strong knowledge of air vehicle structure analysis and design fundamentals.
Experience with airframe, airworthiness, and flight test coordination.
Ability to define requirements and manage engineering tasks to cost and schedule.
Effective communication skills for reporting status to program management and customers.
Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
Bachelor's degree in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering preferred, or a related degree with equivalent experience.
