Description

Perform structural analysis for advanced vertical lift composite and metallic structures. You will own the technical integrity of airframe designs through rigorous stress assessment and coordination.

Responsibilities

• Conduct detailed strength, stability, stiffness, fatigue, and weight analyses using classical and finite element methods.
• Review part and assembly definitions prior to production release to ensure manufacturing and design compliance.
• Examine structural or material discrepancies to develop inspection and repair procedures.
• Author test plans, instrumentation requests, monitoring limits, and stress reports to verify airworthiness.
• Coordinate with design, manufacturing, supplier, laboratory, flight test, and project management teams to resolve engineering tasks.

Required Skills

• 5+ years of experience in stress analysis of advanced composite or metallic structures.
• Proficiency with finite element analysis (FEA) of complex models.
• Strong knowledge of air vehicle structure analysis and design fundamentals.
• Experience with airframe certification, airworthiness requirements, and flight test coordination.
• Ability to define engineering requirements and manage tasks within cost and schedule constraints.
• Effective communication skills for reporting technical status to program management and customers.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.

Preferred Skills

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering, or a related degree with equivalent experience.
