Description

You will perform structural analysis and finite element modeling for complex aerospace components and assemblies.

Responsibilities

• Create detailed Finite Element Models (FEM) for components and assemblies using standard modeling practices.
• Satisfy requirements for static strength, stiffness, stability, fatigue life, damage tolerance, and thermal performance.
• Resolve complex structural and loading challenges using free body diagrams and classical analysis techniques.
• Review design definitions for detail, assembly, and installation to ensure requirement compliance.
• Support manufacturing and testing by interpreting technical data and assisting with product improvements.

Required Skills

• 5+ years of airframe stress analysis experience.
• Proficiency with NASTRAN.
• Experience with analysis pre/post-processors such as PATRAN, HyperWorks, or Femap.
• Detailed FEA experience focused on metallic, laminated composite, castings, forgings, additive, or elastomeric components.
• Experience with CATIA V5/V6/3DX or similar CAD tools like Pro/E, Unigraphics, or SolidWorks.
• Proficiency in analytical tools including Mathcad, MATLAB, Python, or Excel Visual Basic.
• Working knowledge of GD&T requirements.
• Experience with PLM software such as ENOVIA.
• Ability to perform 2D/3D modeling, requirement capture, and specification development.

Preferred Skills

• Master’s Degree in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering.
• Experience with structural castings, precision forgings, or thick composites.
