Description

You will manage, maintain, and troubleshoot the AIX operating system environment, ensuring maximum performance and uptime for critical infrastructure.

This role is on-site.

Responsibilities

• Build and configure AIX servers according to project specifications and manage server capacity with architects.
• Configure, monitor, tune, and troubleshoot AIX LPARs and physical servers.
• Provide end-to-end support for AIX systems and take ownership of problem resolution during service outages.
• Manage VIO Server/Client, LPAR/DLPAR, and AIX installations via NIM Server.
• Execute system recovery using mksysb images and implement Disaster Recovery procedures.

Required Skills

• 8+ years of experience in AIX System Administration.
• Strong understanding of P6/P7/P8/P9/P10 PSeries hardware architectures.
• Experience with PowerVM, Power Firmware, and HMC engineering.
• Expertise in PowerHA and GPFS engineering and certification.
• Proficiency in Unix, Shell Scripting, and Perl.
• Experience managing infrastructure software including AIX 6.1/7.1+, VIOS, PowerVM, GPFS, and PowerHA.
• Knowledge of file systems, processes, and performance tuning/troubleshooting.

Preferred Skills

• Formal certification in PowerHA and GPFS.
• Experience collaborating with capacity managers on infrastructure planning.
