Description

You will manage and maintain AIX-based systems to ensure infrastructure stability, security, and performance.

This role is on-site.

Responsibilities

• Install, configure, and maintain AIX operating systems on physical and PowerVM virtualized environments.
• Perform system administration, including user management, security hardening with PowerSC, and patching via NIM.
• Troubleshoot complex hardware and software issues, performance bottlenecks, and system crashes.
• Monitor performance using NMON and implement optimizations at the OS and application levels.
• Execute system backups and recovery procedures using mksysb and LVM mirroring.

Required Skills

• 5+ years of experience as an AIX Administrator.
• Strong knowledge of AIX operating systems (including AIX 7.3) and Power Systems hardware.
• Experience with PowerVM virtualization technologies.
• Proficiency with NIM, NMON, and PowerSC.
• Advanced scripting skills in Shell, Perl, or Python.
• Solid understanding of networking concepts and protocols.
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field.

Preferred Skills

• Experience with DB2 database administration on AIX.
