Description

You will manage and maintain AIX environments in a 24x7 high availability setting.

Responsibilities

• Install, upgrade, migrate, and configure AIX systems.
• Resolve technical problems and perform root cause analysis for service incidents.
• Monitor system performance and availability to proactively identify and correct problematic trends.
• Implement software, hardware, and configuration changes following established escalation procedures.
• Plan and execute backup and recovery procedures, including managing backup systems.

Required Skills

• 5+ years of UNIX (AIX) systems administration experience in a 24x7 high availability environment.
• Extensive experience with the AIX Operating System, including installation and troubleshooting.
• Proficiency reading Korn shell, Python, or Perl scripts.
• Experience with DNS, NTP, SSH, and SNMP.
• Ability to manage system updates, patches, and configuration changes.
• Experience working with ITSM tools such as ServiceNow.
• Familiarity with ITIL processes.

Preferred Skills

• Linux experience.
• Knowledge of Apache, WebLogic, Oracle, and EMC storage products.
• Ability to write Python, Perl, or Korn shell scripts.
