Description

Manage and optimize IBM AIX servers and Power Systems infrastructure for a critical banking environment.

This role is hybrid.

Responsibilities

• Install, configure, and maintain IBM AIX servers, including system upgrades, patch management, and OS migrations.
• Administer user accounts, file systems, storage, and security settings to ensure platform stability.
• Troubleshoot complex OS-level performance and stability issues within large-scale enterprise environments.
• Mentor junior engineers and partner with architecture and security teams to drive standardization.
• Operate within ITIL-based environments, managing change requests and maintaining high availability.

Required Skills

• 7+ years of hands-on experience administering IBM AIX in enterprise settings.
• Deep expertise in AIX system administration, LVM, filesystems, paging space, and performance tuning.
• Extensive experience with AIX patching, technology levels, service packs, and system upgrades.
• Strong knowledge of IBM Power Systems, LPARs, and virtualization concepts.
• Proficiency in KornShell and Bash scripting.
• Experience with ITSM platforms such as ServiceNow.
• Strong written and verbal English communication skills.

Preferred Skills

• Expert-level experience with PowerVM, HMC, and VIOS administration.
• Advanced automation experience using Ansible.
• Experience supporting systems in regulated industries like banking or finance.
