Description

You will design standalone infrastructure architectures for enterprise systems and evaluate on-premises, hybrid, and cloud-based options for AIX workloads. This role defines reference architectures leveraging IBM Power Systems and Power Virtual Server (PowerVS).

This role is on-site.

Responsibilities

• Design and validate high-availability and disaster recovery patterns for AIX workloads.
• Architect and design AIX environments for production and disaster recovery scenarios.
• Assess the feasibility of migrating AIX DR servers to IBM Cloud.
• Provide architecture recommendations supported by cost, risk, and feasibility analyses.
• Address performance, security, and resiliency requirements for AIX in IBM Cloud environments.

Required Skills

• 15+ years of enterprise infrastructure architecture experience.
• Deep hands-on expertise with IBM AIX.
• Strong experience with IBM Power Systems, LPARs, HMC, and PowerVM.
• Proven experience in AIX performance tuning and system design.
• Demonstrated success designing or migrating AIX workloads to IBM Cloud.
• Strong background in disaster recovery architecture and planning.
• Ability to assess and communicate trade-offs between on-premises, cloud, and hybrid infrastructures.
• Excellent communication skills to present to technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Preferred Skills

• Experience defining reference architectures for IBM Power Systems.
