Description

Conduct complex analysis and characterization of advanced materials for electrochemical energy storage, nanomaterials, and catalysts. Own the technical expertise in sample preparation and interpretation of results from R&D and scale-up processes.

Responsibilities

• Perform multi-instrument analysis on materials to support research and development initiatives.
• Troubleshoot, maintain, and calibrate analytical instruments, including scheduling manufacturer preventative maintenance.
• Train users on instrument operation, monitor procedural compliance, and maintain detailed usage logs.
• Write and update SOPs and safety documentation for instrument operation and work protocols.
• Report analytical results promptly to facilitate process improvements and data tracking.

Required Skills

• 10+ years of experience operating and maintaining analytical and materials characterization equipment in chemical synthesis research environments.
• Expertise in ICP-MS, ICP-OES, and XRD.
• Hands-on experience with TGA/DSC, SEM-EDS, ion beam mill, and microwave sample digesters.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook for data analysis and tracking.
• Ability to develop and follow safety plans and documentation.
• Strong oral and written communication skills.
• Graduate degree in a relevant scientific field.
