Description

This role requires a strong combination of hands-on SQL/Teradata data analysis, model/data governance, data quality, and cross-functional project leadership. Candidates must be able to provide specific examples of personally using SQL to analyze and validate large datasets. This is not a governance-only, reporting-only, or project-management role.

Core Requirements

  • Hands-on SQL / Teradata – critical requirement
    • Advanced, hands-on SQL experience working directly with large, complex datasets, preferably in Teradata.
    • Must be able to describe specific examples of SQL personally written and used in production/business environments.
    • Experience using SQL for data validation, reconciliation, profiling, trend analysis, exception identification and root-cause analysis.
    • Ability to investigate discrepancies across multiple data sources/tables and determine the underlying cause of data-quality issues.
    • Experience translating SQL analysis into findings and recommendations for business, technology and data stakeholders.
  • Model & Data Ownership
    • Demonstrated accountability for analytical or quantitative models through implementation, ongoing maintenance, monitoring and controlled change.
    • Experience working within formal model/data governance frameworks requiring documentation, controls, approvals and audit/exam readiness.
    • Ability to independently review/challenge model assumptions, methodology, inputs and outputs; this is not a model-development role.
    • Experience assessing the impact of model, data or methodology changes and ensuring appropriate documentation and controls.
  • Data Quality & Controls
    • Experience monitoring and reporting data-quality metrics including accuracy, completeness and timeliness.
    • Hands-on experience performing root-cause analysis of data defects.
    • Demonstrated ownership of issues from identification through remediation and validation.
    • Experience partnering with technology, data and business teams to resolve defects and control gaps.
    • Strong documentation skills, including evidence supporting controls, validation and audit/regulatory review.
  • Program / Stakeholder Management
    • Proven ability to manage complex initiatives involving technology, data, model/risk and business stakeholders.
    • Experience coordinating timelines, dependencies, deliverables, risks/issues and remediation activities through completion.
    • Ability to communicate technical/data findings clearly to nontechnical stakeholders
