Description

You will migrate legacy SAS analytics to Python, preserving business logic and ensuring data accuracy across the organization.

This role is remote.

Responsibilities

• Translate SAS programs (DATA steps, PROC SQL) into Python using pandas, numpy, and SQL.
• Validate converted logic by reconciling outputs, row counts, and aggregations between SAS and Python.
• Partner with Business Informatics stakeholders to understand reporting intent and downstream usage.
• Simplify existing analytics pipelines to reduce technical debt and increase transparency.
• Document business logic, assumptions, and data transformations for long-term maintainability.

Required Skills

• 5+ years of experience with Python for data analysis, specifically pandas and numpy.
• Strong proficiency in SQL and experience integrating it with Python.
• Working knowledge of SAS, including the ability to read and interpret existing SAS code.
• Experience translating or modernizing legacy analytics and reporting logic.
• Solid understanding of analytics concepts such as aggregations, joins, time-based logic, and derived metrics.
• Ability to validate analytical outputs and ensure data accuracy.
• Bachelor's degree in a relevant field.

Preferred Skills

• Experience in healthcare, payer, or regulated data environments.
• Familiarity with SAS macros and common PROC workflows.
• Exposure to cloud-based analytics platforms or modern data stacks.
