Description

You will modernize legacy SAS analytics by translating them into Python, preserving business logic and output accuracy.

This role is remote.

Responsibilities

• Analyse existing SAS programs, including DATA steps and PROC SQL, to understand current logic.
• Translate SAS-based analytics into Python using pandas, numpy, and SQL.
• Validate converted logic by reconciling outputs, row counts, and aggregations between SAS and Python.
• Partner with Business Informatics stakeholders to understand reporting intent and downstream usage.
• Document business logic, assumptions, and data transformations for long-term maintainability.

Required Skills

• Strong experience with Python for data analysis, including pandas and numpy.
• Proficiency in SQL for data integration and manipulation.
• Working knowledge of SAS with the ability to read and interpret existing code.
• Experience translating or modernizing legacy analytics or reporting logic.
• Solid understanding of analytics concepts such as aggregations, joins, time-based logic, and derived metrics.
• 5+ years of experience in analytics engineering or data transformation roles.
• Bachelor's degree in a relevant field.

Preferred Skills

• Experience in healthcare, payer, or regulated data environments.
• Familiarity with SAS macros and common PROC workflows.
• Exposure to cloud-based analytics platforms or modern data stacks.
