Description

You will develop Android system applications and define APIs in the system-level framework layer.

This role is on-site.

Responsibilities

• Define and develop APIs in the system-level framework layer to enable performant use cases across the stack.
• Implement and manage networking, database, and UI components.
• Work with Application and Platform teams to debug functional, performance, and stability issues.
• Collaborate with product management, software engineers, and partners to specify interfaces for new frameworks.
• Participate in technical design reviews and team code reviews.

Required Skills

• 5+ years of experience in Android System Application development.
• Expert level proficiency in Java and Kotlin.
• Mandatory hands-on experience with C/C++.
• Mandatory experience with NDK, JNI, and IPC mechanisms.
• Strong knowledge of networking protocols including HTTP/S, TCP/UDP, and socket programming.
• Experience with Android networking APIs and network protocol analyzers like Wireshark or Fluke.
• Proficiency with Retrofit, Glide, Room, Dagger 2, RXJava2, and Firebase.
• Solid understanding of Design Patterns and REST web services.
• Experience with Git for version control.

Preferred Skills

• Experience with Android internals, framework services, or AOSP.
