Description

You will perform complex scientific analyses to support public health surveillance and the identification of opioids and other substances.

Responsibilities

• Design analytical techniques and develop new methods of analysis for unusual sample matrices.
• Operate complex laboratory equipment including LC/MS/MS, LC/QTOF, and GC/MS/MS.
• Assist with epidemiological and statistical reports based on daily, weekly, monthly, or annual data.
• Apply analytical judgment to solve problems involving many complex variables.
• Maintain compliance with laboratory safety, biosafety, and regulatory standards.

Required Skills

• 2+ years of experience in analytical, organic, and inorganic chemistry.
• Proficiency operating LC/MS/MS, LC/QTOF, and GC/MS/MS instrumentation.
• Knowledge of Good Laboratory Practices (GLP) and Good Automated Laboratory Practices (GALP).
• Familiarity with state and federal regulations including EPA, FDA, DEA, ISO 1NA25, and CLIA.
• Technical knowledge of information systems, physics, and statistics.
• Ability to communicate technical findings to internal teams and external agencies.
• Capacity to serve as an expert witness in judicial proceedings if required.

Preferred Skills

• Experience with Sciex equipment such as QT RAP NA00+ and X500 QTOF.
