Description

You will design, build, and secure REST APIs on AWS, ensuring compliance with HIPAA/PHI standards and implementing robust security controls.

This role is on-site.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain RESTful APIs using Python, integrating OAuth2/JWT and mTLS for secure authentication and communication.
• Configure and manage AWS API Gateway, AWS WAF, Shield, and ACM/Private CA to enforce security protocols and certificate management.
• Implement security testing practices, including SAST/DAST tooling (e.g., SonarQube), and utilize Postman/cURL for API validation.
• Build frontend SDKs with React/JavaScript and manage code repositories via Git and GitHub.
• Monitor API performance and logs using CloudWatch while adhering to HIPAA/PHI guardrails.

Required Skills

• 3-5 years of AWS cloud development and deployment experience.
• Strong proficiency in Python for backend API development.
• Hands-on experience with React and JavaScript for frontend SDK creation.
• Deep understanding of security protocols, including OAuth2, JWT, and mTLS.
• Experience with HIPAA/PHI compliance and PHI data guardrails.
• Familiarity with OpenAPI/Swagger specifications and API integration patterns.
• Proficiency with Git, GitHub, and CI/CD workflows.

Preferred Skills

• AWS Certified Developer – Associate certification.
• Experience with AWS CloudWatch for monitoring and logging.
