Description

Design, implement, and manage API gateways and microservices architectures for scalable systems.

This role is on-site.

Responsibilities

• Configure and manage Kong API Gateway for routing, authentication, and policy enforcement.
• Design and implement RESTful APIs using JSON for microservices-based systems.
• Deploy, scale, and troubleshoot services and gateway components using Docker and Kubernetes.
• Integrate APIs with backend microservices, ensuring consistent request/response handling and error behavior.
• Support API lifecycle activities including versioning, documentation, and production monitoring.

Required Skills

• 5-10 years of experience in API development and API gateway deployments.
• Hands-on experience with Kong API Gateway configuration and administration.
• Strong understanding of API Gateway concepts and REST API development.
• Proficiency in JSON request/response modeling and API contract consistency.
• Experience with microservices integration and containerized deployment using Docker and Kubernetes.
• Ability to troubleshoot complex distributed systems.

Preferred Skills

• Experience with OpenAPI for API specification and contract-driven development.
• Knowledge of gRPC for service-to-service communication.
