Description

Design and implement enterprise API architectures, focusing on security, governance, and integration patterns. You will own the full lifecycle of API specifications, from design to documentation and code review.

Responsibilities

• Identify and design API layers for service registry, management, throttling, and routing.
• Define integration strategies using services and messaging to support downstream data flow and existing systems.
• Design security and authentication features in compliance with company policies.
• Develop services using Spring Boot and Node.js, ensuring robust backend implementation.
• Define Test Driven Development strategies and perform regular code reviews to enforce best practices.

Required Skills

• 15+ years of experience in software architecture and development.
• Strong Java backend development skills.
• Expertise in API design specifications, including OAS (OpenAPI), REST, SOAP, and GraphQL.
• Proficiency in designing system monitoring, alerting, and tracing mechanisms.
• Understanding of security protocols: OAuth, JWT, API keys, and rate limiting.
• Familiarity with data modeling (JSON Schema, YAML, SOAP/XML Schema).
• Experience with microservice patterns and event-driven architecture.

Preferred Skills

• Proficiency with API development tools such as VSCode, Spectral, or Stoplight Studio.
• Ability to articulate complex technical scenarios to stakeholders and negotiate governance standards.
