API Gateway Developer

You will design, develop, and architect secure API solutions using enterprise management platforms. You own the release pipeline for SOAP and REST APIs, managing versioning and lifecycle strategies. You implement security protocols including JWT, OAuth, and OWASP standards. You handle messaging types and protocols using XPath, XSLT, and JSON Schema Validation. You apply cryptography concepts including X509 certificates and encryption/decryption methods.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop SOAP and REST APIs and web services.
• Architect API versioning and lifecycle management strategies.
• Implement security protocols including JWT, OAuth, and OWASP standards.
• Manage messaging types and protocols using XPath, XSLT, and JSON Schema Validation.
• Apply cryptography concepts including X509 certificates and encryption/decryption methods.

Required Skills

• 3+ years of hands-on experience in API design and development.
• Proficiency with API Management platforms such as Broadcom Layer 7, Axway, Kong, Apigee, IBM API Connect, or Mulesoft.
• Expertise in SOAP and RESTful web services.
• Deep understanding of JWT and OAuth authentication.
• Practical experience with JSON Path and JSON Schema Validation.
• Working knowledge of XPath and XSLT.
• Strong grasp of industry-standard web security and API security mechanisms.
• Experience with CA API Gateway (Broadcom), Linux, VMs, and Containers.
• Knowledge of asymmetric and symmetric encryption.

Preferred Skills

• Experience with technical documentation for API architectures.
