Description

Lead API design and security for the Open Banking COE to deliver end-to-end solution designs.

This role is on-site.

Responsibilities

• Design end-to-end API solutions and produce design artifacts for large-scale integration projects.
• Define and adopt best practices for API design and security standards.
• Review designs and code from technical teams to ensure alignment with strategic architecture principles.
• Support delivery leads by breaking down solutions for iterative sprint delivery.
• Present designs to Architecture Review Boards and engage stakeholders in technical workshops.

Required Skills

• 5+ years of experience in solution architecture for large-scale API integration programs.
• Expertise in REST API design using Swagger or RAML definitions.
• Deep knowledge of API security standards including OAuth, OIDC, and mutual authentication.
• Hands-on experience modeling and deploying distributed microservices using Java and Spring Boot.
• Proficiency with API management platforms such as MuleSoft, Apigee, Kong, or AWS API Gateway.
• Experience with public cloud environments, specifically AWS.
• Expertise in DevOps tooling including Jenkins, GitLab, and AWS CodePipeline.
• Deep understanding of observability, logging, monitoring, and error handling.
• Knowledge of Enterprise Integration Patterns.

Preferred Skills

• Experience with Domain Driven Design.
• Familiarity with Kafka, Splunk, or ELK.
• Background in Financial Services.
