Description

You will design and define API management strategies, governance models, and solution architectures using Google Apigee. You lead the discovery phase to align API capabilities with business objectives and existing landscapes.

This role is remote.

Responsibilities

• Conduct stakeholder workshops to assess business needs, integration requirements, and API monetization use cases.
• Define API management strategies, governance models, and lifecycle standards including versioning and error handling.
• Create high-level conceptual architecture diagrams and design proxy patterns for API gateways.
• Evaluate and recommend security standards such as OAuth 2.0, JWT, and mTLS, ensuring compliance with policies like GDPR.
• Produce current state assessments, gap analysis reports, and target state architecture documents.

Required Skills

• 8+ years of experience in API management and integration.
• Strong hands-on expertise with Google Apigee (Edge, X, or Hybrid).
• Deep knowledge of RESTful API design and OpenAPI specifications.
• Proficiency in API security mechanisms including OAuth 2.0, JWT, and mTLS.
• Experience with cloud platforms, preferably GCP, and microservices architecture.
• Understanding of networking concepts such as DNS, routing, and load balancing.
• Familiarity with CI/CD tools including Jenkins and GitHub Actions.

Preferred Skills

• Apigee Professional certification or equivalent.
• Proven track record in API design strategy and governance.
