Description

Lead the migration of Appian from on-premise to Kubernetes, defining the end-to-end architecture and managing the Appian operator lifecycle.

Responsibilities

• Define cluster topology for EKS, AKS, or OpenShift, including ingress and persistent storage strategies.
• Install and maintain the Appian operator and container images using Helm charts.
• Execute large-scale migrations from server-based environments using the Appian Migration Tool for data packaging and import.
• Develop YAML configurations for Appian Custom Resources to automate provisioning via Infrastructure-as-Code.
• Configure high-availability settings, resource limits, and security compliance including cert-manager and secrets management.

Required Skills

• 7+ years of Appian platform experience, including 3+ years in a senior architect role.
• 3-5+ years of hands-on Kubernetes orchestration experience with AWS EKS, Azure AKS, or Red Hat OpenShift.
• Direct experience with Appian-specific K8s requirements, including the Appian Operator and Custom Resources.
• Proficiency in Docker/Podman, Helm, GitLab, and Terraform.
• Strong knowledge of SQL and JDBC drivers for MariaDB, MySQL, or Db2.
• Experience optimizing relational databases as Appian data sources within or outside the cluster.
• Expertise in migrating large-scale Appian applications, including data transformation and synchronization.
