Description

Lead application architecture and technical design for Customer Billing Systems (CSS) initiatives.

This role is remote.

Responsibilities

• Provide hands-on technical guidance throughout the SDLC, from design through implementation.
• Identify application-level risks and support mitigation planning.
• Ensure solution quality, performance, and alignment with enterprise standards.
• Support system enhancements, integrations, and issue resolution in complex environments.
• Lead technical teams and influence vendors to hold them accountable.

Required Skills

• 8–10 years of experience with Customer Billing Systems, specifically CSS (Customer/1).
• 8+ years working in a formal SDLC environment.
• Strong experience in utility or regulated environments.
• Proficiency with Mainframe technologies: COBOL, DB2, UNIX.
• Experience with GoAnywhere, MuleSoft, and Managed File Transfer (MFT).
• Knowledge of C++ and Foundation for Cooperative Processing (FCP).
• Understanding of client/server and internet-based architectures.
• Basic WAN/networking concepts.

Preferred Skills

• Experience leading technical teams (internal and vendor).
