Description

You will lead technical operations and support for the Globus service within the Research Cyberinfrastructure group.

Responsibilities

• Lead technical operations for Globus gateways, integrations, and collections connected to storage and computing platforms.
• Manage user authentication and authorization methods to maintain secure server and system connections.
• Automate workflows and improve operational processes through software integrations.
• Support software integrations using REST APIs.
• Oversee the Globus application to ensure effective support for research infrastructure.

Required Skills

• 5+ years of experience supporting and administering Linux-based web applications with distributed administration.
• Professional experience using Python and Python SDKs to interact with web applications.
• Experience with software development, scripting, or automating workflows via REST APIs.
• Experience managing user authentication and authorization for secure server connections.
• Proficiency with SAML.
• Experience with AWS.
• Background in web applications.

Preferred Skills

• Experience with enterprise Identity Management systems such as Globus/CILogon, UW NetID, SAML, Shibboleth, OIDC, or Active Directory/Entra ID.
• Familiarity with network-attached storage protocols (POSIX, Amazon S3) and cloud storage (Azure Blob, Google Cloud Storage).
• ITIL-based IT service management experience.
