Description

Design and build Power BI data models, DAX calculations, and interactive reports to support business analytics and visualization needs.

This role is remote.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with business stakeholders and data analysts to gather requirements and define data models for reports and visualizations.
• Design, document, and implement efficient conceptual, logical, and physical data models, including row and column-level security in Power BI semantic models.
• Connect to diverse data sources such as APIs, BigQuery, ArcGIS layers, SQL databases, and Excel files, ensuring seamless extraction and transformation.
• Write complex DAX formulas for calculated columns, measures, and custom calculations, optimizing report performance using DAX Studio and Power BI performance tools.
• Publish reports to Power BI Service, manage access controls, automate refresh schedules, and maintain source version control using Azure DevOps.

Required Skills

• 5+ years of experience in application development or data analytics roles.
• Proficiency in Power BI, including semantic modeling, report creation, and Service deployment.
• Advanced DAX skills for creating complex measures and calculations.
• Experience connecting to APIs, BigQuery, SQL databases, and ArcGIS map/feature layers.
• Intermediate to advanced Excel skills, including complex formulas, pivot tables, and data analysis.
• Ability to reverse-engineer existing business processes and optimize logic for efficiency.
• Familiarity with Tabular Editor and Best Practice Analyzer for adhering to modeling standards.

Preferred Skills

• Experience with AI tools, particularly Google AI technologies.
• Knowledge of Azure DevOps for source control and version management.
